I'd agree that monographs without examples are not so helpful, but "problems" posed concerning difficult material seem to me to be inefficient ways to communicate ideas about how to elaborate the ideas. Not to mention the artificiality of problems/exercises contrived to fulfill the seeming obligation to ... have them. Examples worked out by expert authors are highly desirable... | |
