One reason is that I don't understand how one applies the following to teaching critical thinking: "saying exactly what's going on and nothing else." (I'm not even sure what this means.) I also don't know how you can help someone's teaching practice by declaring: "Teach as simple as you can!" (Again: I don't quite know what this means.) And, as an objection less directly relevant to mathematics education (but still related due to its use as an analogy here), I don't think you have accurately characterized what a good sports commentator does. | |
