Sep 9, 2020 at 3:37 comment added Alexander Woo Back when I was an undergrad, CS students were expected to include in their comments a proof that their code was correct in all cases, and write proofs that algorithms worked as expected. Having programmers who can do that definitely meant much cleaner code with much fewer bugs. Then again, back in those days, it was considered shameful to release code with any bugs at all; nowadays it's just another minor thing to fix on the next release.
