May 7, 2016 at 10:20 comment added JTP - Apologise to Monica This is not correct. A 3 to 4 ratio, as in cooking, means for every 7 cups of stuff used, 4 are of one type, and 3, the other. Each ingredient is then 4/7 or 3/7 of the total. The G/B ratio is 12/14 or 6/7 but there are 12/26 or 6/13 students are girls. The example doesn't make this clear.
